In memory of…

By in Culture, History, Social Policy

I would like to take a brief moment to honor the memory of Martin Luther King, Jr. for his tireless work and devotion to civil rights. He left an impeccable legacy – one that inspires many. As President Obama suggested, perhaps we should all engage in some type of public service today as a means of thanks and reverence. Ideas include volunteering at a local organization, standing up for someone/thing you believe in, stopping yourself from making a discriminatory comment, or reaching out to someone who is different from you. The little things add up and you know what they say…what goes around, comes around.

Thank you, Dr. King, for your dedication to progress and equality.

Martin Luther King, Jr.
