Ladies and gentleman,
For those of you that know me well, you know that my enthusiasm for the Fall is almost beyond comprehension. At the first sign of the leaves changing, I entire a month-long stage of pure giddiness. I may take on the form of someone entirely different from myself actually. And if I offer to bake you a plethora of items using fresh apples or ask to sniff your newly sharpened school pencils, I do apologize. I really cannot help myself. I find the season to be utterly perfect, in every way.
You can imagine my excitement when I received the first Fall 2010 J. Crew catalog this week. J. Crew! Fall! America!
I sat down on the bed and folded down the corners of the pages containing the outfits, or varieties thereof, that I told Jason I could wear during the Fall. This is me, kids. I do things like this. The thing is that Texas does not have much of a Fall. So, in order to play the game correctly, you must pretend you are in a place in which you could actually wear these outfits, come September. I chose to imagine New Hampshire. That sounds pretty fantastic, doesn’t it? I imagine that Vermont could compete with New Hampshire in the Fall but I like the sound of New Hampshire. So, here I am, in New Hampshire, wearing some lavish new clothes, maybe visiting an apple orchard. Or walking along the pathways of an Ivy League University. Or sneaking a read in a wood paneled library. Or watching a group of kids play in the leaves.
This really is a fun game. I urge you to give it a whirl. In fact, I might even loan you my catalog to do so. Just don’t unfold my corners.

Lovely!!! (Also, nice photo choice!) Can I be in your imagination too?
You always are. Except you’re usually wearing clown shoes. Can you imagine what that is about?
Awh, I’m such a huge fan of fall as well. You had me giggling. :) I got giddy yesterday because the way the breeze was rustling the leaves on the trees seemed so fall like. It was AWESOME.
Oh Emily, I do this very thing. Sometimes I will just look at the sky and think, “This reminds me of fall.” And due to this very small observance, I will have an utterly fantastic day. Perhaps there is a support group for people like us. Or perhaps we are just smart enough to know that Fall is indeed where it’s at. ;)
Jen, I love Fall so much, that I could give you a list as long as my arm of all the things about it that make me happy. Even the smell in the air changes. I hope that someday, you get to experience a New Hampshire Autumn first hand. They’re amazing. Vermont will do just fine, too.
Everything just feels different, doesn’t it? It is nice to know that there are others who appreciate the season as much as I do! Fingers crossed for a New Hampshire Fall one day!
Love love LOVE this post!! I <3 fall as well, you need to come north to see the trees changing! :) Also, I plan on blaming all of my J.Crew Fall 2010 collection purchases on you.
I happily take the blame for Dorney looking fancy in J.Crew. :)
